About

Most clean living content makes you feel worse.

That's the entire reason this site exists.

Most clean living content sells an aesthetic. Pantries that look like museums. Routines with eleven steps. Ingredient lists full of unfamiliar names, and a specialty store run to match.

You read it, look at your own kitchen, and feel behind. Which is a strange outcome for content that claims to be helping.

simpurely runs on the opposite premise: a cleaner, calmer home gets built one small swap at a time, by normal people with normal budgets, who eat Cheez-Its at parties and use bleach when something is genuinely nasty. Nobody has to overhaul anything. You just buy the better version next time the old one runs out.

Everything here is written to be used at a real budget, from stores that are already on your route. Trader Joe's, Aldi, Costco, Target. No specialty haul required, and no pretending the specialty haul is what made the difference.

Progress over purity. Less, but better. That is the whole thing.

The shape of it

What's here, and what deliberately isn't.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND

Things you can act on this week.

  • Swaps at stores you already shop at, with real prices attached
  • DIY recipes with the cost math shown, not implied
  • Honest reviews, including the parts that didn't work
  • Short routines, because eleven steps is not a routine
  • Plain English about ingredients, without the fear
  • Whatever the actual receipt said

WHAT YOU WON'T

The stuff that makes this space exhausting.

  • MLM products, in any form, ever
  • Detox talk, cleanses, or panic about ingredients
  • Supplements, which are a regulatory mess and not my lane
  • Weight loss framing. None of this is about a smaller body
  • Politics, moralizing, or lectures about your choices
  • Faces, including mine

Where I cheat

Every post here has an honest aside, which is the section where I say what didn't work or where I gave up. It's the most useful part of most posts, so it may as well be on this page too.

THE HONEST ASIDE

every post has one, including this one

  • I use diluted bleach for toilets about once a month. There are things citric acid does not handle.
  • My pantry is not the one in the photos. Roughly a quarter of it is still conventional and probably always will be.
  • I have eaten an entire bowl of Cheez-Its at a party and felt fine about it.
  • I tried Whole30 and did not finish Whole30.
  • Several of the products I've bought for this site were returned. Those ones show up in the reviews too.

Anyone claiming they've replaced 100% of conventional anything, in a real household with real life happening in it, is selling you something.

How things get tested

Everything recommended here was bought with my own money, used in a real house for long enough to have an opinion, and written up either way. Nothing on this site was sent free by a brand, and nothing has been written to a brief.

No byline on any of it, which is deliberate. A recommendation should stand on the ingredient list and the receipt, not on whether you like the person holding the bottle.

How this makes money

Right now, it doesn't. The posts currently live on the site have no affiliate links in them at all.

Eventually some posts will link to products, and if you buy through one of those links this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. When that happens, it'll be stated in plain language at the top of the post, not buried in a legal block at the bottom.

The rule for recommendations doesn't change either way: things get recommended because they were bought, used, and held up. Not because the commission was good. There's no sponsored content on this site and there won't be for a long while, and if that ever changes you'll be told directly, in the same voice as everything else here.
